COMPANIES ACT, 2015
One of the business reforms introduced by the government is the signing into law a new Companies Act.
The Companies Act, Cap 486 (now repealed) was enacted in 1962 and was based on the UK Company Law of 1948. This law was archaic and had been largely overtaken by technology, globalization and socio- economic as well as legislative changes. These challenges have necessitated reforms to the companies’ law and hence the signing of a new Companies Act.
